Toxic-Free Alternative for Cleaning and Sanitizing
Introduction
Driven to bring innovation, savings, and sustainability to clients, the ISS team at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Netherlands introduced the tersano Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO®) system for cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing. The SAO solution is sustainable and safe, and would provide PwC offices with a healthier working environment. ISS proposed PwC trial this alternative to traditional chemicals, and PwC agreed.
In early 2019, chemical cleaners and sanitizers were removed from the PwC building and replaced with SAO, an innovative alternative to toxic chemicals. Testing would take place over one month with SAO replacing all chemical cleaners. After the trial, results would be analyzed and a decision made between keeping chemicals or converting to the new cleaning technology.
The tersano SAO system:
- Uses on-site generation thereby eliminating the need to purchase, transport, distribute, and stock multiple cleaning products.
- Dramatically reduces traditional chemical usage.
- Increases productivity through an all-in-one solution thereby lowering labour costs.
- Is non-corrosive and safe for any surface.
- Meets government regulatory approvals and exceeds safety standards.
- Has an SDS rating of 0-0-0.
- PwC staff are at zero risk of harm from toxic chemical exposure.
The tersano SAO system:
- SAO reverts back to water and oxygen and can be disposed of down the drain without negatively impacting waterways.
- SAO is a no rinse cleaner and sanitizer, which complements ISS’ commitment to conservation of natural resources and elimination of unnecessary expenses.
- Less packaging and emissions translating to less waste produced by PwC.
- Dramatically reduced carbon footprint at PwC.
